21 Music : a brand of Music&Arts Networks

The 21 Music label is pleased to announce its first release: the Jean-Pascal Beintus’ original score written for the Doctor/TV star Michel Cymes and his  new Hippocrate aux enfers documentary (France Television).The 11 tracks are performed by the finest French musicians as Renaud Capuçon and Guillaume Chilemme (violins), Adrien La Marca (viola), Edgar Moreau (cello), Paul Meyer (clarinet) and the pianist Jérôme Ducros.

21 Music is a new and  exclusively pure digital label. The music market is evolving : we must anticipate changes and to look ahead. 21 Music is a flexible and borderless label : from Classical to Electro and Contemporary musics. 21 Music can be downloaded or streamed on any place of the digital planet.

Jean-Pascal Beintus was born in Toulouse on 1966. He grows up in Nice and starts his musical education at the local Conservatoire (Double bass, piano and composition) and joins the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris and Lyon. In 1983, he is appointed bass player at the Opera National de Lyon under Sir John-Elliot Gardiner. Fond of his orchestral job, discussing with his colleagues and conductors, in parallel he continues to compose and proposes a Concerto for Doublebass and Orchestra (Samskara).

In 1996, Kent Nagano, the Opéra de Lyon’s Music Director, decides to promote Jean-Pascal’s works and commissions him several scores for his concert seasons. A new road is open for Beintus and he decides to start an official career of composer. Until now, he composes for the Opéra de Lyon, Berliner Philharmoniker (Variations on a Gershwin’s tune for piano duet and orchestra), Hallé Orchestra Manchester (Couleurs cuivres, Concerto for brass quintet and orchestra), Berkeley Symphony Orchestra (Luna tree), Accademia de Santa Cecilia Roma (Concerto for Clarinet –  dedicated to Alessandro Carbonare), Deutsches Symphony Orchester Berlin (Le Petit Prince, Suite), Russian National Orchestra (Wolf Tracks – recorded on Pentatone by B. Clinton and M. Gorbatchev – Grammy Award 2004).

Since his childhood, big fan on John Williams, Jean-Pascal dreams to compose for movies and he fills his dream joining the Alexandre Desplat’ staff as first assistant and main orchestrator. With Alexandre Desplat, Jean-Pascal works on all the main last decade’s international blockbusters: Harry Potter, King’s Speech, Argo, Imitation game, Zero Dark Thirty, Tree of life, Shape of Water, Valerian, etc.). Beintus composes the original movie soundtracks for Leonardo di Caprio’s documentaries (11th hour and Carbon). In 2016, Jean-Pascal shared with Alexandre Desplat the original score of Marseille (HBO) and will continue his collaboration on the season 2 (2017). In 2017, he composes the original score for the Michel Cymès’ Hippocrate aux enfers (France 2).

In 2018, The Orchestre de Chambre de Wallonie (Frank Braley) and the Orchestre d’Auvergne (Roberto Forés Veses) premiere his Fantaisie concertante for trumpet, piano and string orchestra. His Petit Prince will be introduced in Monte-Carlo (Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo) in 2019.
