Giuseppe Sinopoli in Dresden

The Hänssler Profil edition - number 35 - introducing some live recordings from the Staatskapelle Dresden delivers a new volume exclusively dedicated to Giuseppe Sinopoli (as conductor and composer). Music director of the Saxon Orchestra between 1992 and 2001, the Italian conductor recorded many outstanding studio sessions for  Deutsche Grammophon and Teldec.

By this release, the German label gets the chance  to rediscover the Maestro in his favourite repertoire based on German Romantic and post-Romantic’ scores : Liszt-Schumann-Wagner and Richard Strauss. Sinopoli, here, is more incisive than in his official recordings and the orchestra it is fabulous with amazing instrumentals colors. 

Furthermore, this box reveals three works composed by Giuseppe Sinopoli : “Homage to Costanzo Porta”, “Tomb of Love” for cello and orchestra and a symphonic fragment from Lou Salomé for large orchestra.
