On the occasion of Erik Satie’s 150th anniversary, Durand-Salabert-Eschig (Universal Music Publishing France) and the City of Arcueil commissioned Music&Arts Networks to create a web documentary on the iconoclast composer. This 16 minute short film explores the place of Satie in Music History and discusses his life as citizen for Arcueil. Produced by François Dru and directed by Elisabeth Renault-Geslin, you are free to watch this film online. 

Based on John Cage’s writings, Satie the Indispensable presents interviews from the highly renowned musicologist Ornella Volta, the pianists Bertrand Chamayou and Jean-Frédéric Neuburger, Emmanuel Hondré (Philharmonie de Paris’ Artistic Director), Laurent Melon (Painter) and Juliette Mant (City of Arcueil- Deputy Mayor for Culture).
